Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade Has Officially Shut Down

MMO action-adventure game set in Games Workshop’s Warhammer universe, Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade, has officially been shut down. This comes a few months after the team at Behaviour Interactive made the announcement that the game was not long for this world.

Originally announced back in June, the developers stated that come September 10th, the game servers would no longer be available for players to jump into. As part of the shut down which occurred on Friday, all personal data pertaining to Eternal Crusade has been removed.

The team took to a post on their Steam store page to thank the fans who enjoyed Warhammer 40K’s competitive third-person shooter.

“Today we are announcing the sunsetting of the game. The servers will be closing on the 10th September 2021. Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade will no longer be playable at this point. We are proud of all of the work that went into Warhammer 40,000: Eternal Crusade, and for the amazing community that rallied behind the game. Thank you for everything, we appreciate all of your support through the years.Thank you for this adventure[.]”

Originally launched back in 2016, Eternal Crusade saw players take on the role of one of four different factions: Space Marins, Orks, Eldar and Chaos. The third person multiplayer shooter failed to impress our reviewer, though, calling Eternal Crusade an experience that had it been given more time in development, it could have “blossomed into something nice.”
